Lace up and help out: Event to battle bullying
NEW PALESTINE — The fourth annual Run, Walk and Roll Against Bullying will be at 9 a.m. Sept. 10 at New Palestine High School.
The event features 1-mile and 4.5-mile routes. Participants will gather at the high school, 4485 S. Victory Drive, New Palestine; those participating in the longer route then will be taken by bus to Doe Creek Middle School, 5613 W. County Road 200S, New Palestine.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., with bus boarding at 8:30 a.m. The race kicks off at 9 a.m. with entertainment from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
The local Lions Club will also conduct a parade at 10:45 a.m. beginning and ending at the Southern Hancock School Corp. office, 4711 S. County Road 500W New Palestine, to promote bullying prevention.
Entry for the walk/run costs $5 for students and $10 for adults; register by a Tuesday for a T-shirt and/or bracelet.
