Helen "June" (Cox) Callaway, 88, of Greenfield, was born Nov. 22, 1922, and went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010. She was surrounded by her family as she passed from this life.

She worked as a key punch operator and coding clerk for the Finance Center at Ft. Harrison and also at the V.A. Hospital, before retiring in 1985. She was a member of Wallace St. Presbyterian Church, a 50 year member of Englewood Chapter #483 of the Order of the Easter Star, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #465 and a Cub Scout den mother and assistant Girl Scout leader. June attended George Washington High School.

Surviving her are her son, Stanley (Lana) Callaway; daughters, Judy Rue, Donna (Rob) Lyons, Shirley (Rusty) Snider and Pam (Tony) Serpico; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; brother, Ross Cox; and sister, Alberta Fey Newman.

June was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don Callaway; daughters, Sandra Tyler and Joyce Pollett; grandson, David Rue; parents, Alpha and Jewel (Hudson) Cox; and sisters, Mary Johnson and Barbara Stone.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, in Flanner and Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center, with a celebration of June's life at 1:30p.m. Pastor Robert Kinion of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
