Mr. Robert D. (Bob) Sutton of Kennesaw, Ga. passed away Monday, July 25, 2011. Bob was born in 1923 in Maxwell, IN to Jake & Emma Sutton, was raised in the Maxwell Community and graduated high school in 1941.

Bob worked at Delco Remy from 1941-1942. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 and spent various duties in the U.S. Navy until he was assigned to the USS Thrush. Bob was stationed in Hawaii until the Armistice was signed and then returned to Boston. He retired from Stanley Bostitch after 34 years and worked for Blazer & Associates for 20 years. Bob was a member of Hancock Lodge #101, American Legion and the Smyrna Christian Church.

Bob is survived by his wife of 671/2 years, Vi Sutton; sons, Rick (Geni) Sutton, Kim Sutton, Jamie (Misty) Sutton; grandson, Scotty Sutton; granddaughters, Ashton Sutton; Brennan Sutton, Chandler Sutton; and three great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry Nolan Sutton, Max Eugene Sutton; and son, Bobbie Gene Sutton.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta (770) 424-4924. Funeral services will be 12 Noon, Thursday, July 28, 2011, in the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta, Ga., with Lee Delbridge, Minister, officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m., in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga.
