Donald Joe Woodruff, 80, of Greenfield, died Saturday, March 28, 2015. He was born on Sept. 2, 1934, in Hymera, Ind., as the son of Hershel B. and Olive Pauline (Mathers) Woodruff. He married Maxine Lou (Kelly) Woodruff, who passed away in 1989, and later married Wilma (Scroggins) Hancock Woodruff.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Woodruff of Greenfield; children, Larry (Deborah) Woodruff and Debera (Mike) Rednour Broyles, both of Greenfield; stepchildren, Betty Hancock of Greenfield and Daryl (Phillis) Hancock of Wisconsin; sister, Adlynn House of Terre Haute; brother, Larry Woodruff of Mobile, Alabama;13 grandchildren; 24 great- grandchildren; and one great- great- grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Woodruff; sons, Vernon Joe and David Woodruff and daughters, Cindy and Sandy Woodruff.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Mike Hopper will be officiating.
