Jay County duo receive player of week awards
DeAnn Kauffman of Union (Modoc) and Lyla Muhlenkamp of Jay County each set school records en route to collecting honors in the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week program for the week of Dec. 14 to 19.
Kauffman and Muhlenkamp share the weekly award for girls District 2. They are joined by Portage senior Canaan Cooper, Marion senior Vijay Blackmon, Evansville Reitz senior Dru Smith, South Bend Clay senior Mykayla Baylor, and Greenwood senior Holly Hoopingarner as weekly winners.
Cooper and Baylor are respective boys and girls winners for District 1, Blackmon is the boys honoree for District 2, and Smith and Hoopingarner collected respective boys’ and girls accolades for District 3.
