MUNCIE — Victor W. Vallee, 16, of Greenfield, has been inducted into the Indiana Academy of Science, Mathematics and Humanities — a two-year program for gifted and talented students.

Victor, son of Christine and John Vallee of Greenfield, joins 184 fellow students in the program this fall.

Located on the campus of Ball State University in Muncie, the academy accepts applications from any current Indiana high school sophomore.

Admission is based on a number of factors including academic performance, essays, test scores and recommendations.

While studying at the academy, students have the opportunity to take courses for college credit, and many graduate with more than a year of college already completed.
