make Dean’s List

MANCHESTER — Two Greenfield area students were recently named to the Dean’s List at Manchester University for the spring semester. Keryna Barrett, who is studying elementary education, and Taylor Gibson, who is studying exercise science and fitness, both earned a grade point average of 3.5. Glover added to Dean’s List at Indiana Wesleyan University

MARION — Rachel Glover, New Palestine, was recently named to the Dean’s List at Indiana Wesleyan University. To earn this honor, students must achieve the completion of at least 12 credit hours with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Franklin College announces Class of 2020 graduates

FRANKLIN — Franklin College has announced the names of the graduates from the Class of 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the college rescheduled the traditional commencement ceremony to coincide with the annual Homecoming and Alumni Weekend on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020. The following Greenfield students received degrees: Clayton Brumfield, son of Chris and Christy Brumfield, received Bachelor of Arts degrees in business (marketing) and business (management); Jordan Cermak, Greenfield, son of Douglas and Stephanie Cermak, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology; Kevin Riley, son of Ted and Sheila Riley, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in exercise science; Brayton Shannon, son of Matthew and Christine Shannon, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. Greenfield-Central student earns agricultural scholarship

GREENFIELD — Recent Greenfield-Central High School graduate Logan Overman was awarded a $1,500 scholarship from America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders. In the fall, Overman will study Agricultural Education at Purdue University. Grow Ag Leaders raises awareness of diverse career opportunities in the agriculture industry and provides 352 scholarships nationwide to support student’s post high school ag education. Niemier named to Wabash College Dean’s List

WABASH — Thomas Niemier, New Palestine, was recently named to the Wabash College Dean’s List for the 2020 spring semester. To earn dean’s list honors at Wabash, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. For more information about Wabash College, visit wabash.edu.

Sivertsen earns master’s degree from university

NEW YORK — Sarah (Niemier) Sivertsen, formerly of New Palestine, has received a Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University. She is currently pursuing her certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Breese named to Knox College Dean’s List

GALESBURG, Ill. — Phoenix Breese, Greenfield, was recently named to the Knox College Dean’s List of distinguished students for the 2020 spring term. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must have earned at least 2.5 credits in the term, with a grade point average of 3.6 or better (on a 4.0 scale). Breese’s major is Undecided at Knox. New Palestine’s Kirklin joins Rose-Hulman Dean’s List
