Zack Bell

Greenfield-Central senior

Bell capped off a record-breaking career with his second straight Hancock County Player of the Year award, this time shared with his teammate, Caleb Mundell. Bell broke Greenfield-Central’s game, season and career records for goals scored, putting in eight goals in one game this year and finishing with 34 for the season and 76 for his career. He led the county in goals by almost double of second place, and his 81 points were 27 better than the runner up. He earned all-Hoosier Heritage Conference and first-team all-district honors.

Mundell also capped off a record-breaking career with co-Player of the Year honors, setting new Greenfield-Central marks for assists in a game (6), season (26) and career (46). He was the vocal leader for a Cougars team that went 19-2 and advanced to the regional championship game. He earned all-HHC and all-district honors.

Jon Moore

New Palestine senior

Moore, a standout for the Dragons, finished fifth in the county in scoring in his final season. He scored 13 goals with 2 assists, finishing with 28 points. He was one of two New Palestine players named to the all-HHC team.

Logan Angelopulos

Mt. Vernon senior

Angelopulos narrowly led the Marauders in scoring, finishing in the top six in the county in both goals and points. He finished his career with 8 goals, 6 assists and 22 total points.

Abe Buescher

Greenfield-Central junior

Buescher was far and away the county’s best goalkeeper this year, tying a school record with 10 shutouts and allowing just 15 goals in 21 games, only nine of which came in the regular season. He had shutouts in all three sectional games, and earned both all-HHC and all-district for his big junior year in net that ended with a 0.71 goals against average.

Tyler Murphy

Greenfield-Central senior

Murphy, who didn’t return from an injury until Senior Night, had a big impact in the games he played. He finished second in the county in goals with 18, third in the county in scoring with 42 points and added 6 assists. He earned both all-conference and all-district honors.

Jacob Knepper

Mt. Vernon senior

Knepper was one of the offensive leaders for the Marauders, tying for the team lead in goals and finishing just behind Logan Angelopulos in total points. The senior scored 8 goals and added 4 assists, good for 20 points.

Trevor Sawyer

Greenfield-Central senior

Sawyer, a defensive standout for the Cougars, earned All-HHC honors for his strong senior season. He scored 3 goals and added 3 assists, good for 9 points, in helping the Cougars to a fourth straight sectional championship.

Anthony Wallace

Mt. Vernon senior

Wallace, another of the county’s standout defenders, earned all-conference designation for his senior year. He didn’t find himself in the scorebook often, scoring just 1 goal and 2 total points, but he helped anchor the Mt. Vernon defense.

Jordy Phillips

Greenfield-Central senior

Phillips finished fourth on his own team in scoring, but his numbers were good enough to finish ahead of all of his area counterparts. The senior scored 13 goals with 11 assists, notching 37 points, putting him nine points ahead of his nearest Hancock County opponent.

Brantley Kuntz

Greenfield-Central senior

Kuntz played a big role on the back end for Greenfield-Central this year, none more evident than in the Carmel Regional, when his poise and control helped the Cougars advance to the final eight in the state. He earned All-HHC honors to go along with his all-county status.
