Churches have parties and Trunk or Treats planned this month. During a Trunk or Treat, church members park their vehicles for children to walk past and receive candy from the (often decorated) car trunks.

Oct. 26

Fortville Church of the Nazarene will have a Family Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat at 5 p.m. Oct. 26 at the church, 701 S. Maple St., Fortville. In addition to trunk exhibits, the event features an interactive Drum Circle, miniature horses and alpacas, barrel train rides, pumpkin chucking, food trucks, and stations for caramel apples and s’more roasting. New Palestine United Methodist Church will have a Trunk or Treat from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at the church, 3565 S. County Road 500W, New Palestine. The church will block off a section of its parking lot for the event. Come in costume for food, drinks, fellowship and treats.

Philadelphia United Methodist Church and Royal Neighbors of America #1397 will have a Trunk or Treat from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at the church, 2265 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield. Come in your best costume. In case of inclement weather, the event will move inside.

Oct. 27

McCordsville United Methodist Church will have a Trunk or Treat from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 27 next to the playground of the church, 6247 W. Broadway. The event will move inside if weather requires. Information: 317-335-3705; mccordsvilleumc.org

Brown’s Chapel Wesleyan Church will have Trunk or Treat event from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the church, 994 N. County Road 600E. The event takes place rain or shine. There will be a hayride (if weather permits), food, games, and lots of candy. Information: brownschapel.com, 317-462-4910

Cross of Grace Lutheran Church‘s annual Reformation Sunday Music and Octoberfest take place Oct. 27 at the church, 3519 S. County Road 600W, New Palestine. At 5 p.m. a concert will feature special music by the church’s vocal and bell choirs, other musicians and a hymn sing. This year the church will also dedicate its new grand piano at the event. At 6 p.m. there’s a party, complete with all kinds of German food and beer. At 7 p.m. the “Hold ‘em for Haiti” poker and euchre tournament raises money to support mission and ministry in Fondwa, Haiti.

Oct. 29

Greenfield Church of Christ will have Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at the church, 1380 S. State St. Children can come in their best costumes and join in a night of fun and treats. Candy, allergy-friendly treats, apple cider and hot cocoa will be provided. The event will be moved inside if the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Oct. 31

Charlottesville United Methodist Church is having its Trunk R Treat from 5 to 7 p .m. Oct. 31.

Bradley United Methodist Church will have a Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 31 at the church, 210 W. Main St., Greenfield. Start in the side parking lot with decorated trunks and then go into the church with decorated classroom doors and a hotdog meal in the fellowship hall. This is a free event for anyone to attend. Brookville Road Community Church‘s Harvest Hoedown begins at 6 p.m. Oct. 31 at 7480 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine. It features carnival food, games, inflatables and candy.

Northside Christian Church‘s Harvest Festival takes place Oct. 31 in the church basement during Greenfield’s trick-or-treat hours. It features games, treats, hot dogs, donuts, etc. Use the back door.

Trinity Park United Methodist Church‘s “Light the Night” Halloween Event takes place at 6 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Ministry Center gym of the church, 207 W. Park Ave. Information: trinitypark.net, 317-462-4303

Calvary Baptist Church in Greenfield will have Trunk or Treat from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 at the church, 1450 W. Main St., Greenfield. There will be stops both outside and inside, and if the weather is really cold or rainy then mostly it would be inside. Information: 317-462-4586, cbcgreenfield.org
