Police, hospital offering mental health first aid training

GREENFIELD — The registration deadline for a Mental Health First Aid Training class is Thursday, Oct. 31.

The $25 class is 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, in the Keen Classroom at Hancock Regional Hospital, 801 N. State St., Greenfield. Register at healthy365.in/mentalhealthtraining.

The eight-hour course, presented by the Cumberland Police Department, gives people the tools to identify when someone might be struggling with a mental health or substance use problem, and to connect them with appropriate support and resources when necessary.

The class’ cost includes materials, lunch, snacks and a certificate of completion.
