Church serves fish fry indoors

Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church’s indoor fish fry is set for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 23) at the church, 3179 N. County Road 600W, Greenfield.

The menu features battered fish, French fries, cole slaw, and signature baked beans. Members make desserts that are also available for purchase.

A children’s meal of hotdog, chips, apple slices and a juice box is available for $4.

Wind symphony to perform

NEW PALESTINE — Liberty University Wind Symphony is coming to New Palestine High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. March 13. Calvary Baptist Church in Greenfield has been responsible for getting them to come.

Admission is free, and the public is invited.

The wind symphony is an auditioned instrumental ensemble for students who are advanced players of woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. Its repertoire includes original and transcribed advanced wind symphony works from all eras, including exploration of new sounds and rhythms by contemporary composers.

The wind symphony travels on an extensive spring tour annually, where it performs multiple concerts at a variety of venues, plus the ensemble enjoys recording sessions and additional concerts on campus each semester.

Movie night features games, food

GREENFIELD — Curry’s Chapel United Methodist Church plans Family Night featuring a movie, games and food at 5 p.m. Sunday. The church is located at 3488 N. County Road 375E.

Indoor garage sale offers booth space

MT. COMFORT — An indoor garage sale is set for 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 2 at 3179 N. County Road 600W, Greenfield, the building where Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church and Movie Theater Church worship.

Proceeds will benefit a mission trip by youth of both churches. Donations will be accepted starting Sunday.

Booth space rental is available for vendors.

Ramp-building group seeks designer

GREENFIELD — The local arm of a state nonprofit working to make local residents’ homes more handicapped-accessible needs help designing its ramps. 

The Greenfield chapter of Servants at Work Inc., which works to build free wheelchair ramps for people with disabilities or other conditions, seeks an individual willing to volunteer his or her time to draw up designs for ramps.
