Police: Man detained after pharmacy robbery

GREENFIELD — A 22-year-old is in jail amid allegations he attempting to rob a Greenfield pharmacy, according to a news release.

Jagger A. Maupin of Franklin was booked into the Hancock County Jail around 1:40 a.m. Monday on preliminary charges of robbery, resisting law enforcement, obstruction of justice, theft and battery.

Officers with the Greenfield Police Department were dispatched to the CVS Pharmacy, 1233 N. State St., Greenfield, just after midnight Monday on the report of a robbery in progress.

When police arrived, they found Maupin fighting a CVS employee inside the store, according to the news release.

No weapons were located, and no one was injured in the incident.

Maupin was detained and transported to the Hancock County Jail without further incident.

No other information was immediately available, and Maupin remained in jail awaiting formal charging by prosecutors.
