Levy “Buster” Hubble, 70, of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on March 14, 1947 in Brazil, IN as the son of James W. Hubble and Florence A. (Reese) Hunt.

He served in the Air Force from 1965-1969. Buster married Opal (Townsend) on June 3, 1973 in Greenfield.

He worked for the State Highway Department as a light technician for 27 years before retiring in 1999. He then worked for Hickerson Transport for 15 years. Mr. Hubble was a member of Greenfield American Legion Post 119. Buster enjoyed collecting his “treasures” and working on small engines. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending all their sporting events. He was known by all of his grandchildren’s friends as Papaw. If you ever met him, you never forgot him.

Buster is survived by his wife, Opal Hubble of Greenfield; daughters, Missy (Rick) Wilcher and Amy (Shane) West both of Greenfield; brothers, Carl Hubble of Brazil, IN, Harold Hubble, of Brazil, IN, and Marvin (Patty) Golladay of Kirkland, IN; grandchildren, Tyler (Ashley), Parker, Dylan, Peyton, and Mya. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hubble and Florence Hunt; sister, Elsie Walk; and brother, John Hubble.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Fred Powers will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield with military rites presented by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard.
