Needler’s Fresh Market stores donate $6,000 to Gleaners Food Bank

INDIANAPOLIS – Needler’s Fresh Market will be feeding many families this winter season as a result of its giving campaign this year. Needler’s recently announced a donation of $6,000 to the local Gleaners Food Bank in Indianapolis.

“Part of our mission statement as a local grocer is to ‘nourish our communities,'” explained CEO Michael Needler Jr. “We appreciate that many of our customers trust that a dollar spent with our stores goes further for their community. We are grateful for the opportunity to give back and we praise the great work the Gleaner’s food bank does.”

Needler’s Fresh Market currently operates 15 locations across Indiana and Ohio. It is managed by Fresh Encounter Inc, a supermarket management company founded in 1995 by Michael S. Needler and the late Susan Creek Needler. Fresh Encounter currently manages 60 retail locations across Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.

Bureaus of Motor Vehicles to be closed

INDIANAPOLIS – All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle branches will be closed Saturday through Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

All branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours Tuesday.

Hancock Regional Hospital to provide scholarships

HANCOCK COUNTY – The Hancock Regional Hospital Foundation offers a myriad of scholarships to support the professional goals of area students aiming for a career in healthcare. Each scholarship has its own criteria for selection.

Scholarships include:

  • Healthcare and wellness scholarship (deadline March 1)
  • Jill Carr Memorial Scholarship (deadline March 1)
  • Edith Zike Nursing Scholarship (deadline March 1)
  • John F. Stickford Nursing Scholarship (deadline March 1)
  • School of Radiologic Technology Scholarship (deadline April 13)
  • School of Radiologic Technology Scholarship, Mt. Vernon (deadline May 10)
