Chalmer Wilkerson, 86, of Knightstown, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Golden Living Center Brandywine in Greenfield. He was born September 11, 1931 in Knightstown the son of Stanley R. and Doris Louise (Shipley) Wilkerson.

Chalmer was a lifetime resident of Knightstown. He served in the U.S. Air Force from December, 1951-December 1955, and retired from Guide Lamp in 1995 after over 30 years of service. Chalmer was a member of UAW Local 663, Boy Scouts for over 30 years, and was active in Little League for several years. He was also a member of the Knightstown First Christian Church and the Knightstown American Legion.

He is survived by two sons, Steve (Betsy) Wilkerson and Jeff (Debbie) Wilkerson both of Knightstown; five grandchildren, Heather (Kevin) Cournoyer, Abby (Josh) Roseberry, Emmalee Wilkerson, Ashlee (Jeremiah) Ruddick and Jace Wilkerson; great grandchildren, Addison Ruddick, Emsley Ruddick, Wyatt Cournoyer, Lilly Cournoyer, Isaac Roseberry and Haydon Roseberry; sisters-in-law, Kay Wilkerson of New Trenton and Sue Smith of Carthage; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Delores Wilkerson in 2006; brothers, Robert Keith Wilkerson and Chalen Wilkerson; sister-in-law, Pat Wilkerson.

Services will be at 10:30 AM Monday, November 27, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Richard Thayer and Anthony Darling officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 152. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6 PM Sunday.
