GREENFIELD
Shirley Mae (Pitcock) Walden, 77, of Greenfield, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017 at her residence.
She was born on March 30, 1940 in Tompkinsville, KY to the late Boyd and Madie (Sewell) Pitcock. She graduated from Tompkinsville High School in 1959. Shirley married Billy T. Walden, son of Tom and Nova Walden, on May 16, 1960.
She worked for Western Electric for many years before retiring. Shirley was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Greenfield, where she was a clerk and Sunday school teacher for several years.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Billy T. Walden of Greenfield; sons, Kenneth D. Walden, and wife Linda Alyea-Walden, of Greenfield and Steven R. Walden, and wife Kari Cox-Walden, of Greenfield; grandchildren, Adam Walden of Fortville, Elizabeth Walden, Taylor Walden and Jessica Walden all of Greenfield; and sister, Francis M. Pitcock Walden of Wilkerson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Madie Pitcock; and brothers, Wayne Pitcock and Mitchell E. Pitcock.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
