CLEARWATER, FL
Walter R. Johnson, 83, Attorney at Law, passed away October 13, 2017 in Clearwater, Florida after an extended illness.
He served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, US Army and went on to Michigan State University earning a Bachelor Degree in Business.
He then worked for State Farm Insurance in Indiana and while working he attended Indiana University-Indianapolis School of Law.
Walter opened his Law office in 1972 in Fortville, Indiana where he represented hundreds of clients.
He retired in 1992 and moved to Clearwater, Florida where he became very active in managing the community business.
Walter was preceded in death by his mother, Doris and father, Ralph Johnson, and his son, Jon Johnson.
Walter is survived by his loving wife, Linda; son, Todd (Laura) Johnson, granddaughter, Alexandra Johnson and grandson, Jacob Johnson.
Also, stepdaughter, Julie Middleton, Mrs. Joani (Matt) Jenkins, Mrs. Jacki (David) Leonard, stepson, Jason Tuck, stepgranddaughters, Nikki Scruggs, Ashley Jenkins, Abby Jenkins, stepgrandsons, Michael Middleton, Bejamin Spangler, Jonathan Leonard, great-stepgranddaughter, Pheonix Hull; brother, Tony Johnson; stepbrother, Robert (Lynn) Horton; sisters, Mrs. Ruth Smoker and Mrs. Georgia (Jeff) Bauer; nieces, Ms. Jo Ann Blair, Ms. Rita Jane Ray, Misses Lilly and Leah Johnson; cousins, Don (Marylin) Johnson and Linda Johnson.
A Military graveside service will be held at Baypines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida on November 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on November 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm in his community in Clearwater, Florida.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Research Foundation in Walter’s name.
