FORTVILLE, IN
Jack O. Colson, 85, of Fortville, passed away September 18, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born August 21, 1932 in Greencastle, IN to the late Theodore and Helen (McWilliams) Colson.
Jack was a 1950 graduate of Fortville High School and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the UAW Local 662, Fortville F & AM Lodge No. 207, American Legion Post 391, VFW Post #6904 and had served on the Fortville Volunteer Fire Department. Jack retired from the former Delco-Remy in Anderson in 1997 after 47 years of service.
Jack is survived by brothers: David (Sue) Colson of Fortville; Bill Colson of Middletown, IN and Ned Colson of Cincinnati; special friend Tom Siebers and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Gravel Lawn Cemetery Chapel 9088 W 1025 South Fortville, IN 46040 with military honors following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Humane Society 214 E Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140. Services entrusted to Seals Funeral Home, Fortville.
