GREENFIELD
James Frieden, 31, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at his residence. He was born on March 14, 1986 in Greenfield as the son of Gary S. and Theresa (Dulle) Frieden.
James graduated from Greenfield-Central High School in 2004 and attended IUPUI. He worked at O’Neal Steel in Shelbyville for 12 years and was a member of Moose International.
James was an avid Colts fan through the good years and the bad years. He loved music and sang beautifully. Despite being very tall, he was a “gentle giant.” He was proud of his beard and wanted to be known as a “Mountain Man.” His gentle smile came quickly and he had a love of good jokes. His biggest passion was preparing food. He constantly was experimenting with and improving recipes and watching cooking shows. Dining out was always an adventure with James.
He is survived by his parents, Gary and Theresa Frieden of Greenfield; brother, Thomas Frieden of Greenfield; and two nieces and a nephew, Lillian, Landon and Lydia Frieden.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Keith & Elaine Frieden and Greg & Evelyn Dulle.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Park Cemetery, 621 S. State Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. Deacon Wayne Davis will be officiating.
