First responder-led event boasts family-friendly fun

GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Family Safety Day will take place 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 16 in the Greenfield Walmart parking lot, 1965 N. State St.

The safety-themed event, which features free food, interactive activities, booths and demonstrations, is free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by the Greenfield Fire Territory, Hancock Regional Hospital and Walmart.

The event aims to acquaint members of the public with local public safety officials while also giving them resources to protect their families. Representatives from the fire territory, the Greenfield Police Department, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, the Children’s Bureau and the Indiana Department of Child Services will be on hand to meet with families.

A rain date is set for Oct. 13.
