FREDERICKSBURG, VA
Richard L. Sylvester, 87, of Fredericksburg, VA formerly of Fortville, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 at his daughter’s home. He was born Jun 15, 1930 in Ingalls, IN to the late Frank and Della (Burns) Sylvester.
Richard was a graduate of Pendleton High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1988 after 35 years’ service and attended Shirley Christian Church.
He is survived by daughter Leanne (Ed) Hanson of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren: Andrew (Christine) Hanson; Kathy (Rodney) Brisentine; Chris (Emma) Hanson; 6 great-grandchildren; brother Harold “Butch” (Peggy) Sylvester of Ingalls. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Caroline and siblings: Helen Reger, Joanna Free, James Sylvester and Gerald Sylvester.
A celebration of Richard’s life will take place on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm. Burial will take place at Menden Cemetery in Pendleton.
