Sharon Kay Rogers, 68, of Shirley, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 10, 2017, at her home. Born December 21, 1948, in New Castle, to the late Paul A. and Audrey A. (Richmond) LaVallee.

Sharon graduated from Eastern Hancock High School in 1967. She was a lifelong member of Shirley Christian Church, where she was involved in Grief Support Group. Sharon retired from Metals Technology in Shirley after approximately 27 years of service. She was a loving care giver for her family. She loved to cook, enjoyed family dinners, loved flower gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed trips to Lake Michigan and Kentucky.

Survived by three daughters, Candy Rogers of Shirley, Angela (Brian) Tompkins of Markleville, Pam (Jason) Faucett of Wilkinson; grandchildren, Amy and Jackson Tompkins of Markleville; Julia and Brenton Faucett of Wilkinson; a brother, Rickey (Joyce) LaVallee of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Rogers in 2010, and a grandson, Wyatt Edward Lee Tompkins.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, July 14, at Shirley Christian Church with Gary Sickle officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery at Knightstown. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 13, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Cancer Society or Kenneth Butler’s Soup Kitchen in Greenfield with envelopes available at the funeral home.
