James Richard Marshall, 86, of Morristown, died Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. Born September 18, 1930, in Union Township, Shelby County, the son of Stanley and Opal (Phares) Marshall.
Survivors include his wife, Martha (Purcell) Marshall; two children, Carren Sue (Steven) Dieckmann of Osgood, and Gary Todd (Vickie) Marshall of Shelbyville; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, John Proctor and wife, Jan, of Morristown.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Constance Jo (Marshall) Proctor.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville, with Masonic ritual at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the funeral home, with Pastor Fred Hickman officiating. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
