Church to serve hot dog lunches

FORTVILLE — Fortville United Methodist Church, 125 E. Staat St., will offer its Hot Dogs in the Park lunch events Wednesdays from June 7 to July 28.

Free hot dogs, chips, beverage and dessert will be available, and crafts or a Bible story will be shared with young children.

The cookout is open to the public.

Lunch will be served in the church Fellowship Hall if there is inclement weather.

Philadelphia church plans rummage sale

PHILADELPHIA — A rummage sale began Friday and continues from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (June 3) at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, 2265 U.S. 40 West.

In addition to books and other rummage sale items, there is a bake sale featuring cookies, pies and homemade noodles.

Lunch will be served, featuring hot dogs, chili dogs, sloppy joes, chips and soft drinks.

Mt. Comfort to serve spaghetti

MT. COMFORT — A spaghetti dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday (June 3) at Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church of the Risen Christ, 3179 N. County Road 600W, Greenfield.

The dinner will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert and drink. Donations will be accepted, with funds raised supporting church ministries.

Rummage sale continues today

McCORDSVILLE — The Presbyterian Women of Christ Presbyterian Church have been “cleaning up” and “clearing out” their closets, basements, garages and attics in preparation for the annual rummage sale.

The sale began Friday and continues from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (June 3) at the church, 7879 N. County Road 700W.

There will be a wide variety of items including small appliances, housewares, dishes, glassware, linens, tools, outdoor items, games and books. For most items, which are not priced, you make an offer of what you are willing to pay. All reasonable offers will be accepted.

This is the annual fundraising project of the Presbyterian Women’s group. Proceeds go to help support local missions, such as the Angel Connection food pantry, and also worldwide missions of the church.

Italian Night set in McCordsville

McCORDSVILLE — McCordsville United Methodist Church will serve an Italian Night dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. June 10.

Service to feature singing, dinner

KNIGHTSTOWN — The Murray Family will sing in a homecoming service at 10 a.m. June 11 at Knightstown Church of God, 199 W. Grant St.

Dinner will follow the service. Afternoon singing runs from 2 to 4 p.m.

Recycling event slated at church

GREENFIELD — Electronics Recycling Day is planned from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 10, at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3447 S. State Road 9, Greenfield.

The church and CGS Services will be on hand to receive electronic items for recycling.

The following items will be accepted: backup power supplies, LCD monitors, calculators, mainframe computers, cameras, microphones, cellphones, monitors (CRTs), computer boards, personal computers, computer keyboards, power cables, copiers, printers, DVD players, scanners, electronic motors, stereo equipment, fax machines, telephone systems, game systems, televisions, laptops, typewriters, laser disc players and VCRs.

Batteries will not be collected at the event.

A free-will offering will be accepted.

Sale to aid soup kitchen, preschool

GREENFIELD — A garage sale to benefit Faith Lutheran Preschool and Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday (June 3) at Faith Lutheran Church, 200 W. McKenzie Road.
