Mary Sharon (Gilliatt) Parks passed away peacefully early May 10th, surrounded by her husband and children. She was born in Orange County, Ind., on September 8, 1943, to the late Herschell and Margie (Hollen) Gilliatt.
She married the love of her life, Arthur Donovan Parks, on June 2, 1962.
Mary graduated from Paoli High School in 1961. Mary and Arthur moved to Greenfield in 1974 to raise their family. Mary spent many years working outside the home. She enjoyed spending time with her family, painting ceramics, travelling, working on projects with her husband, participating in and watching sports. Mary was a loving and devoted mother, and grandmother to Bryan (Heidi) Parks, Crystal (Scott) Horning, Stacia Carter along with great-grandchildren Andrew and Megan Horning.
Surviving Mary is her husband listed above; her son, Charles (Cindy) Parks; daughters, Lorraine (Darrell) Carter, and Barbara (Joe Merriman Jr.) Wise; sisters, Nancy Cook, and Robin Brown; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceding Mary in death are her parents listed above; brother, Jerry Gilliatt; sisters, Charlotte Terrell and Beverly Brunes; and son, Thomas Walter Parks.
Friends may visit from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday May 13, 2017, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W. Main St, Greenfield IN, 46140. Services will immediately follow the visitation at Noon at the funeral home.
