HANCOCK COUNTY — The Hancock County CASA (court-appointed special advocate) program is seeking volunteers to serve children who are currently on a waiting list.

CASA volunteers are appointed by state law to advocate during the court process for children. Those they serve include children of parents who are facing criminal charges or being investigated by the Indiana Department of Child Services.

CASA volunteers visit with children and make recommendations about their placement and service needs to a judge.

Currently, there are 89 children in Hancock County on a waiting list for an advocate.
