Eddie T. Long, 85, of McCordsville, passed away March 22, 2017. He was born December 1, 1931 on Chicken Gizzard Ridge in Liberty, KY to the late Willie Virgil and Ebbie (Hicks) Long.

Eddie was only 18 years old when he set off on his own and headed to Indianapolis to work. With only a second grade education, he took a job at the railroad. He met and married Eva May Dalton September 30, 1955. Soon after, he got on at General Motors Truck and Bus where he worked for 40 ½ years before retiring in January of 2000. Eddie was a faithful member of the Fortville Church of the Nazarene and the U.A.W. Union #23.

After retirement, he enjoyed many family vacations and reunions. He cherished and dearly loved all of his family. He would drop everything to give a helping hand, the shirt off his back and the last dollar in his pocket if he thought you needed it. His kids and grandkids were his pride and joy! He would attend every baseball, basketball and volleyball game that he could make it to.
