GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Historical Society will host “The Election of 1948: When Truman Came to Greenfield,” 3 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel in the Park near the intersection of Apple Street and U.S. 40.

The free event, hosted by Dave Heller, principal emeritus of Mt. Vernon Middle School, will discuss President Harry Truman’s campaign stop in Greenfield and how the candidate’s Secret Service security detail differed from today’s security forces surrounding the president and presidential candidates.

A tour of the Old Log Jail and museum will follow the talk. Donations are appreciated.
