Dale L. Apple (“Hooter”), 69, of McCordsville, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017. He was born March 1, 1948, in Indianapolis to the late Donald “Gene” and Bernice (Anderson) Apple.
He was a 1966 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and served in the Navy on the U.S.S. DeHaven as a gunner’s mate during the Vietnam War.
Dale retired from Heat & Frost Insulators Local 18 in 1998 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Fortville Christian Church, an avid golfer, and a longtime supporter of the “Make-A-Wish” Foundation.
He is survived by his daughter Courtney (Chris) Clardy of Indianapolis; grandchildren Madison and Drew Clardy; brother, Dennis G. Apple; and sister, Shelley Hayse, both of McCordsville; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Funeral services for Dale will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
