Mary E. (Winter) Ulrey, 84, of Greenfield, passed away January 25, 2017. She was born September 13, 1932, to James and Mary (Morgason) Winter of Indianapolis.

She graduated from Warren Central High School in 1951. Mary worked for Hancock South Madison Joint Services as a teachers aid for 28 years retiring in 2002, she was also an aide on the special needs bus during those years. She devoted her life to caring for her special needs sons.

Mary is survived by her five sons, Ronnie Heaton, Dennis (Debby) Ulrey, Jeffrey Ulrey, David (Melody) Ulrey, and Michael Ulrey; grandsons, Steve (Jill) Ulrey, Nathan (Andi) Ulrey, Chris Ulrey, Kyle (Kelsey) Ulrey, Nick Ulrey; great-grandson, Caden Nation; sister, Carol (Jen) Reagan; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Walter (Bill) Ulrey; parents, James and Mary Winter; brother, James Winter Jr.; and sisters, Barbara Cox, Carolyn (Rose) Fenley.

Services for Mary will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, with visitation from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to service at Hendryx Mortuary, New Palestine Chapel, 19 East Main St. New Palestine, IN 46163. Pastor Mark Havel will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery.
