Phyllis Ann Rice, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017, at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born on April 17, 1936, in Rowes Run, Pa., as the daughter of Walter A. and Viola B. (Twigg) Rice.
She worked many years as a laborer at Nobles Industries. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Phyllis is survived by her sister, Erma (Douglas) Adamson of Brownsville, Pa.; nieces, Donna (Ron) Wilson of New Palestine and Cathy (Matthew) Koval of Pittsburgh, Pa.; nephew, Mark (Sheila) Hann of North Manchester, Ind.; friend, David Hankins; and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Viola Rice and sister, Regina (Raymond) Hann.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to Noon on Thursday, January 19, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation beginning at Noon. James Burns will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
