Desmonta Virginia Holtman, 97, of Florence, Ala., passed away January 12, 2017. Mrs. Holtman was a native of Indiana and was Fortville Town Clerk/Treasurer for 15 years. She was a 40 year resident of Palmetto, Fla.
Mrs. Holtman is survived by grandson, Daniel E. McMahan and wife, Becky of Killen, Ala. and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Elmer Hoitman; parents, Beachem S. and Jennie H. Campbell, son, Victor D. McMahan; sister, Eleanor Ridge; and niece, Melodie Rohr.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, at Gravel Lawn Cemetery Chapel, Fortville, Ind. Her grandson, Rev. Daniel E. McMahan, will officiate.
The family sends special thanks to caregiver Faye Clayton, the Glenwood Healthcare staff, and Dr. Davis for their great care of Mrs. Holtman. They would also like to thank Social Worker Jennifer Blanchard, Lenita Riedel at Alabama Veterans Affairs, and Holy Cross Manor in Palmetto, FL.
