Larry L. Wills, 83, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2017. He was born May 1, 1933, to the late Lloyd and Hazel Beeler Wills.

Larry graduated from Arsenal Technical High School and attended Ivy Tech College. He married Dorothy A. Ward on May 15, 1953, and she preceded him in death on September 9, 2016. He served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a tool cutter at Ford Motor Company for 41 years, retiring in 1998.

Larry was a charter member of St. Simon Catholic Church and was also a devoted husband and father who loved vacationing with Dorothy in Naples, Fla., and Branson, Mo. He was a huge motor sports fan, an avid golfer, loved boating and camping with his family, and worked as a yellow shirt at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for many years.

Larry is survived by his devoted children, Karen L. Kinder (Kevin), Larry L. Wills II, Patricia A. Wills, Mary E. Shaler (Joseph); grandsons, Kevin B. Kinder II (Hope), Samuel J. Shaler; great-grandsons, Kevin B. Kinder III, Tobias K. Kinder, Nathan G. Kinder, Elliott A. Kinder, Conner J. Kinder.

Larry’s son, David J. Wills; brother, Richard Wills; and sister, Greta Freeman, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 13, at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St., with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Simon Catholic Church, 8155 Oaklandon Rd. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, St. Simon Catholic Church or to the Hancock County Regional Hospice.
