Marieta V. Troy, 89 of Pendleton, passed away Saturday morning, January 7, 2017, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born July 1, 1927, in Henry County the daughter of the late Ambrose and Edna (Youngs) Lemerick.
Marieta graduated from Kennard High School in 1945 and attended Willow Branch United Methodist Church. She worked as a bookkeeper for Fitzer Feed and Grain in Willow Branch for many years and retired from the Greenfield Farm Center in 1985. She loved playing piano, listening to Big Band music, shopping, and in early years playing cards with the Shirley Girls Card Club.
Survivors include son, Greg (Brenda) Troy of Pendleton; two grandchildren, Julie (Scott) Rolston of Brownsburg, and Michelle (Ray) Wallis of New Whiteland; two great-grandchildren, Breanna and Andrew Wallis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Troy in 2013; three brothers, Wilbur, Richard and Gene Lemrick; and sister, Marilyn Sparks.
Friends may call from Noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, at the funeral home with Pastor Glen Davis officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
