Take the Lego challenge

GREENFIELD — Kids in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to compete against their friends in this months’ Lego Challenge by building a winter wonderland scene completely out of Legos at 4 p.m. Jan. 3 at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. The day’s creations will remain on display in the library’s children’s room for a month. Visit hcplibrary.org to register.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve

INDIANAPOLIS — Celebrate New Year’s Eve from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Georgia Street in downtown Indianapolis. Entertainment for the evening includes the electronic dance group Jump Smokers, Standout Story and 87 Southbound. At 11:59 p.m., an IndyCar will be hoisted by crane high above the crowd and descend at midnight with fireworks. For more information, visit downtownindy.org/nye.

Photo exhibit installed

INDIANAPOLIS — A nature photography exhibit, “Indiana, Naturally,” is on display in two locations in Indianapolis. Photos of Indiana nature photography from ages 13 through adult will be on display at the Indianapolis Airport, 7800 Col. H. Weir Cook Memorial Drive, through March 19. A smaller exhibit from children ages 5 to 12 will show at the Indianapolis Arts Garden, 110 W. Washington St., from Jan. 2 through 23.
