John L. Kirby, 68, of Wilkinson passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born May 14, 1948, in Durant, Okla.
John proudly served in the Army. He married Teresa (Lucas) Kirby on October 19, 1968. John worked for Navistar, Indianapolis and was a member of The Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Greenfield. He was a wonderful father and grandpa who loved his family deeply. In his spare time John enjoyed working in his yard.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Teresa (Lucas) Kirby; sons, John (Kimberly) Kirby of New Palestine, Jason (Amanda) Kirby of Pendleton; grandchildren, Jesse, Michael, David, Josie and Lindsey and great-granddaughter, Harley.
He is preceded in death by his father, Francis L. Kirby; son, Johnny L. Kirby, Jr.; brother, Donald Kirby and In-laws, Arnold and Louise Lucas.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 West Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 28, at the funeral home with Pastor Joseph Riggs officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Park Cemetery in Greenfield with Military Rites provided by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard.
