Joan M. Toloday

Joan M. (Hubert) Toloday, 75, Greenfield, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospice. She was born on June 30, 1941, in Perry County, Ind., as the daughter of Raymond A. and Frieda M. (Peter) Hubert.

Joan graduated from Wilkinson High School in 1960. She married Victor L. Toloday on September 29, 1962, at St. Rose of Lima in Knightstown, Ind. Joan was a dedicated homemaker.

Mrs. Toloday was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, where she was involved in the ladies club. She was also a long time Cub Scout leader and little league mother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, working jigsaw puzzles, and reading. Joan was a loving mother and grandmother.

Joan is survived by her husband, Vic Toloday of Greenfield; children, Ann (Doug) Hoberty of Lebanon, Ohio, Pete (Kimberly) Toloday of Livonia, Mich., Dave (Jolene) Toloday of Martinsville, Shawn (Ellen) Toloday of Bloomington, Minn., and Chris (Reba) Toloday of Zionsville; siblings, Judy Toloday, Roselee (John) Jones, Don (Roxanne) Hubert, Michael (Rose) Hubert, Becky (Jerry) Garrett, and Pete (Kim) Hubert; fifteen grandchildren, Jordan (Alexis), Katelynn, Rachel, Kari, Andy, John, Ellie, Jacob, Lucas, Bradley, Ben, Owen, Hazel, Bailey, and Tyler; one great-grandchild, Rylie; and many nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Frieda Hubert; and close family friend, Father Kenneth Murphy.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 23, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd, Greenfield, IN 46140. Father Aaron Jenkins will be officiating. A private family committal will take place at McCray Cemetery at a later date.
