Carolyn Jean Engleking, 89, Charlottesville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Reid Hospital in Richmond.

Carolyn was born January 1, 1927, in Rush County, to J. Harold and Mary (Cook) Davis.

Survivors include her children, Rebecca S. Boaz of Fortville, and Robert (Darlene) Engleking of Charlottesville; five grandchildren, Angela (Greg) Tielking of Hanover, Bob (Carrie) Sutton of Brownsburg, David ( Kristina) Sutton of Weston, Fla., Andrea Engleking of Edina Minn., and Ryan (Brittany) Engleking of Jessup, Iowa and, ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Roland E. Engleking.

Carolyn and Roland were married June 9, 1945. They were married for 60 years before Roland’s passing in 2006.

Carolyn graduated from Westland High School in 1945. She was a nurse at Hancock Memorial Hospital for over 33 years. She was a member of Nameless Creek Christian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Major Hugh Dinwiddie Chapter of Knightstown, Nameless Creek Literary Club, Wilkinson Brotherhood and Sisterhood, Common Thread and Guild, Hancock County Senior Citizens and Homemakers Club. She attended Bible Study Fellowship in New Castle and Walk to Emmaus in Greensburg 2010.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-6 prior to the service.Funeral service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, September 8, at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Charissa Ramey officiating. Private graveside service at a later date.
