GREENFIELD — Edelweiss Equine-Assisted Therapy did its best to beat the July heat, as the organization’s instructor, Lindsay Fisher, transformed the arena into a Christmas in July wonderland.

A Christmas tree adorned the center of the arena, as riders warmed up singing their summer sleigh songs each week of July. As the lyrics of “Jingle Bells” and “Let it Snow” drifted through the arena, riders prepared to use a variety of riding skills to dress up the arena Christmas tree in ornaments for one of the month’s riding activities.

To top off a month of holiday cheer (and a whole lot of Christmas cookies), riders and volunteers celebrated with Edelweiss’ Christmas in July Night on July 29. Riders reclined on horse blankets with popcorn to watch a double feature of the Christmas movies, “Frosty the Snowman” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”
