Elizabeth Anne (Buses)(Maris) Berry, 92, Greenfield, passed away on July 26, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born on February 2, 1924, in Indianapolis to Walter August Buses and Phoebe (Budd) Buses.
She met and married a longtime friend, Robert Berry and they had been together for nearly five years prior to his passing. After completing her education, Elizabeth spent her life working as a cosmetician and cashier at the local pharmacy, while raising and caring for her family. Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and was known for her independence, kindness, and love of animals especially beagle dogs, cardinals, and her cat. She also was a woman of faith, and was a member of the Ellenberger United Church of Christ for many years.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Donna J. Leavitt; son, Jay W. (Theresa) Maris; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as six great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Berry; her parents; and her two sisters, Mary Buses and Ruth Green.
The family will be having a private graveside service for Elizabeth at a later date at Washington Park East Cemetery.
