New Odyssey group to play the Plaza

GREENFIELD — Entertainment on the Plaza closes out its season with New Odyssey, a three-man group that plays more than 30 instruments and music that spans the decades.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on. No rain dates are scheduled for Entertainment on the Plaza events.

Milan Miracle player to discuss team

GREENFIELD — No celebration of Indiana statehood is complete without a discussion of basketball.

Ray Craft, the point guard from the Milan High School team that won the 1954 Indiana State High School basketball championship will discuss how the Milan Miracle changed his life, the lives of his teammates and the town of Milan itself.

The discussion is set for 7 p.m., July 26 at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. Register at 317-462-5141.

Enjoy free admission to history center

INDIANAPOLIS – The Eugene and Marilyn Glick History Center offers free admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Thursday through July 28.

Current exhibits include the Indiana Experience with You Are There: That Ayres Look; You Are There 1948: Communities Can!; You Are There 1816: Indiana Joins the Nation; and Destination Indiana.

Parks and Rec offering chess club

GREENFIELD – Greenfield Parks & Recreation offers a weekly chess club from 10 a.m. to noon each Thursday at the Pat Elmore Center, 280 Apple St.
