Edward Allen Fentz, 79, of Greenfield, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, June 28, 2016, at his home in Greenfield. Ed Fentz, was born September 11, 1936, in Indianapolis to James J. Fentz and Thelma Mildred “Mickey” Fender Fentz.

He was a graduate of Mt. Comfort High school, class of 1954. Following graduation Ed enlisted in the army from 1959 to 1962 and was deployed to Germany.

Ed was a vibrant member of the Vineyard Community Church and Encounter Life Church and a committed believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Ed was an encourager and always had a smile on his face. During his life he greatly impacted the lives of others by being a support not only to his own family but also to those around him. Ed loved to worship and sing. Ed also enjoyed wood working as a hobby over the years and enjoyed sports.

While we will surely miss having Ed with us to laugh and love, to encourage and to embrace we know that he is being embraced by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Ed is survived by his wife, Margaret Fentz; son, Mark Fentz; brother, Jerry Fentz; and grandsons, Noah and Ethan Nicklas.

Ed Fentz was preceded in death by his first wife, Loretta Skinner Fentz; daughter, Melissa Fentz; parents, James J. Fentz and Thelma Mildred “Mickey” Fender Fentz; brother, John Victor “Jack” Fentz; and sister, Patricia Mae Coleman.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, at the Vineyard Community Church 1672 N 600W, Greenfield, IN 46140, with Pastor Rick Francis and Pastor Matt Belcher officiating.
