Students named to dean’s lists or president’s lists

HANCOCK COUNTY — Three area students were named to the president’s list at Trine University in Angola. They are: Elijah Brandt of Indianapolis, a sophomore majoring in chemical engineering; Christopher Short of McCordsville, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering; and Alexandra Slick of Pendleton, a senior majoring in math education. 

Jennifer Apple, daughter of Jeff and Susan Apple of Greenfield, was recently named to the spring 2016 President’s Honor Roll at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She achieved a 4.0 grade point average. Jennifer is studying food science and will begin her sophomore year at Oklahoma State University in August.

Ten students were named to the dean’s list at Franklin College. They are: juniors Caitlyn Mae and Cassidy Kaye Cherry, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Cherry of New Palestine; senior Carly Mae Fernandes, daughter of David Fernandes of Beech Grove and Rebecca Fernandes of Greenfield; sophomore Tapanga Sue Gauck, daughter of Mr. Bart Gauck of Milan and Ms. Tammy Gauck of Greenfield; sophomore Charles Robert Hill Jr., the son of Charlie and Jennifer Hill of New Palestine; senior Brandon G Lindman, son of Grant and Lisa Lindman of McCordsville; freshman Matthew David Powell, son of David and Kris Powell of Fortville; freshman Tyler David Reed, son of Michael and Christy Reed of New Palestine; senior Krystal Marie Sanders, daughter of Richard Sanders of Franklin and Kimberly Robnolte of Pendleton; and senior Zachary Daniel Shoufler, son of Daniel and Diane Shoufler of Fortville.

Sarah Jones, former Mt. Vernon High School student, is among the students who are being recognized for their outstanding academic achievement at Anderson University. Jones, a sophomore, is studying global business and marketing.

Laura Galley of Cumberland was named to the dean’s list at Bluffton University, Bluffton, Ohio.
