Charles Hull, age 95 of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield. He was born on August 2, 1920, in Hancock County to the late Avery and Helen (Shelby) Hull.

Charles graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1938 and would then marry the love of his life Lillian Thomas in 1947. Charles attended Butler University in Indianapolis and received his B.A. Degree in Accounting in 1949 and his Master’s Degree in Economics later in 1974. Charles spent his life working as an accountant for Allison Division of General Motors (Rolls-Royce) in Indianapolis until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of Bradley U.M.C in Greenfield where he was a Sunday school teacher, and also the Hancock Masonic Lodge F&AM #101. Charles loved classical music, airplanes and cars, attending the symphony, playing his violin, and collecting antique furniture. Charles was a member of the Columbia Club and he was also the leader of a dance band in the late 40’s and 50’s called the Knights of Swing.

Surviving Charles is his son, Dr. Meredith (Kathleen) Hull of Monrovia; granddaughter, Deborah (Kevin) Gerbers; great-grandson, Kellen Gerbers; stepgrandchildren, Nathan (Andrea) Warfel, Peter Warfel; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Allison Gerbers, Grant Gerbers, Jackson Warfel, and Benjamin Warfel.

Preceding Charles in death are his parents listed above; wife, Lillian Hull who passed away in January of 2006.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 1, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 West Main St., Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. immediately following the visitation with Pastor Linda Brackney from Bradley U.M.C. officiating. Burial will follow the service at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, 621 S State St, Greenfield, IN 46140.

Memorial Contributions in honor of Charles may be made to the Lillian Thomas Hull and Charles M. Hull Fine Arts Scholarship Endowment Fund through the Hancock County Community Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
