David Lee Werden, age 73, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on January 14, 1943, in Beech Grove, as the son of Paul and Marjorie (Supple) Werden.
He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1961. Mr. Werden served in the Air Force from 1962 to 1964. He married Carolyn Sue (Reed) on September 10, 1963.
He worked for Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis for 42 years before retiring in 2003. Mr. Werden was a member of the UAW Local 1111, Elks Club of Greenfield and the American Legion of Greenfield. He loved golfing, playing cards, fishing and he was the UAW Regional Golf Champion multiple times.
David is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Werden of Greenfield; sons, Greg (Letisha) Werden and Michael Werden, both of Greenfield; brother-in-law, Jack (Linda) Reed of Pendleton; and two grandchildren, Alec David Werden and Brian Joseph Werden.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Marjorie Werden; and brother, Jim Werden.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 20, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.
