High school students to present NASA project

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Central School Foundation and Greenfield-Central High School Rover Team are giving residents a chance Friday to meet the team and see the moon buggy students built.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the team and the moon buggy will be at Beckenholdt Family Park in Greenfield. Residents are invited to bring their lunch and learn more about the NASA-sponsored Human Exploration Rover Challenge, an international competition for high school and college students who design, build and race a human-powered vehicle over simulated Mars terrains.

Greenfield-Central’s teams won second and fifth place at the challenge, which was conducted earlier this year.
