Ordinance creates account for windfall
GREENFIELD — The Greenfield City Council on Wednesday approved an ordinance creating an account for a windfall from the state.
Passing the ordinance was one of the first steps to using the $2.3 million the city received as part of a distribution from the state.
The city hopes to use about $1 million toward a funding match for a $2 million grant created by state lawmakers.
The other funding will be invested in local road work, officials said.
