Greenfield man to serve time for child seduction

HANCOCK COUNTY — A Greenfield man who admitted to asking a juvenile to send him lewd photos via social media will serve a five-year sentence after pleading guilty to a Level 5 felony count of child solicitation.

Nicholas Trautmann, 22, will spend three years behind bars followed by two years on sex offender probation. Trautmann accepted a plea agreement from prosecutors and was sentenced recently, court records show.

The case is a joint investigation between the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police Cyber Crime Unit and involved police departments from across the country.

Police searched Trautmann’s home in the 700 block of Shel-Lyn Court in January after Oregon police received a complaint from the girl’s mother.

Officers traced the social media and text messages back to Trautmann’s phone, court documents state.
