Royals alumni games next week

The Eastern Hancock boys basketball summer alumni games between today’s stars and yesteryear’s standouts will take place June 10.

The friendly competition will be conducted inside the Eastern Hancock High School gym. The junior varsity will play the Eastern Hancock Oldtimers at 6 p.m. The Eastern Hancock varsity players will go head-to-head against the Recent Alumni at 7:15 p.m.

The games will follow IHSAA rules, a 20-minute running clock (except last minute of halves), a two-minute first period overtime (clock stops last minute) and a sudden-death second period overtime.

The cost is $5 for spectators.

Marauders hosting hoops camp

The 2016 Mt. Vernon Marauders boys basketball camp will be from June 6 to 10 inside the Mt. Vernon High School main gymnasium.

The camp is open to boys entering grades kindergarten through eighth.

The camp fee is $50 per person, with $30 per additional camper per family. All registered participants will receive a Mt. Vernon basketball T-shirt and will learn skill development, competition and fun.

Refreshments and awards will be presented every day.

For campers in grades kindergarten through second, sessions will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Those in grades third through fifth will train from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Sixth- through eighth-graders will practice from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

New Pal conducting volleyball seminar

The New Palestine volleyball program is running a summer camp from June 20 to 23. The camp will be inside the New Palestine High School auxiliary gymnasium.

For campers entering grades first through fourth, practice runs from 1 to 2 p.m. For students in fifth through eighth grades, the camp takes place from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m.

Dragons plan wrestling instructional sessions

The New Palestine wrestling team’s summer camp begins June 20. The three-day instructional event will be conducted inside the New Palestine High School wrestling room.

For those currently in first through fourth grades, practice sessions will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. For those campers in fifth through eighth grade, the sessions will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Greenfield-Central sets basketball camp

The Greenfield-Central girls basketball program is conducting a youth basketball camp this summer.

The camp runs from Monday to Thursday inside the Greenfield-Central Fieldhouse.

The event is designed to teach fundamental skill development and competition. Every camper will receive a basketball and a camp shirt.

The camp is for elementary and middle school participants with incoming kindergarten and first- and second-graders set to practice from 8 to 9 a.m.

Incoming third-, fourth- and fifth-graders will train from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. while incoming sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders will go from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.

The cost for the camp is $50. Checks must be made payable to Greenfield-Central girls basketball.
