Mt. Vernon volleyball camp approaching

Mt. Vernon is hosting a summer volleyball camp from Monday through June 9.

The Mt. Vernon coaching staff along with members of the varsity volleyball team will provide instruction to boys and girls in the fundamentals and basic knowledge of the sport.

Each participant will receive a camp shirt. Two sessions are available. Students in second through fifth grades will train from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Those in sixth through eighth grades will practice from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Both sessions will be inside the Mt. Vernon High School auxiliary gym.

Cost is $40, with a sibling discount of $5.

New Pal conducting volleyball seminar

The New Palestine volleyball program is running a summer camp from June 20 to 23. The camp will be inside the New Palestine High School auxiliary gymnasium.

For campers entering grades first through fourth, practice runs from 1 to 2 p.m. For students in fifth through eighth grades, the camp takes place from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m.

The deadline to register is June 11.

Dragons plan wrestling instructional sessions

The New Palestine wrestling team’s summer camp begins June 20. The three-day instructional event will be conducted inside the New Palestine High School wrestling room.

For those currently in first through fourth grades, practice sessions will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. For those campers in fifth through eighth grade, the sessions will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The deadline to register is June 15.

Greenfield-Central sets basketball camp

The Greenfield-Central girls basketball program is conducting a youth basketball camp this summer.

The camp runs from Monday to June 9 inside the Greenfield-Central Fieldhouse.

The event is designed to teach fundamental skill development and competition. Every camper will receive a basketball and a camp shirt.

The camp is for elementary and middle school participants with incoming kindergarten and first- and second-graders set to practice from 8 to 9 a.m.

Incoming third-, fourth- and fifth-graders will train from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. while incoming sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders will go from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.

The cost for the camp is $50. Checks must be made payable to Greenfield-Central Girls Basketball.
